Head of Athena SWAN, James Greenwood-Lush, will come and speak about Athena SWAN Charter

Recognising advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all. Advance HE’s Athena SWAN Charter was established in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education and research. In May 2015 the charter was expanded to recognise work undertaken in arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law (AHSSBL), and in professional and support roles, and for trans staff and students. The charter now recognises work undertaken to address gender equality more broadly, and not just barriers to progression that affect women.

Advisor at Swedish gender equality agency, Ellen Thorell, will come and speak about the program Gender mainstreaming in academia.

The program gender mainstreaming in academia started in 2016 by commission of the Swedish Government to improve gender equality in all state-funded higher education institutions. Today, the Swedish Gender Equality Agency is assigned to offer this support to said institutions. The efforts made by the academic institutions in their attempts to achieve greater gender equality for employees and students have been followed. Some preliminary outcomes will be presented, concerning what challenges, dilemmas and other lessons that have been identified when it comes to the outset and implementation of gender mainstreaming in academia.

Project manager Anette Agardh will come and speak about Tellus – a project to reinforce Lund University's work against sexual harassment

Tellus is a three-year project aimed at reinforcing the preventive work against sexual harassment at Lund University. The project, initiated by vice-chancellor Torbjörn von Schantz, will contribute to a safe study and work environment for all students and staff at the University.
