Italian President visits Lund University

As part of a three-day state visit to Sweden, His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy, came to Lund University where he gave a lecture to a packed auditorium. The aim of the official visit was to further promote the long-standing and excellent relations between Sweden and Italy.

On 7 November, Lund University hosted an alumni reception in the Felleshus, the cultural centre and event venue of the five Nordic embassies, in Berlin. Many alumni gathered after work for a fruitful evening of mingling and networking.

SEK 64 million for graduate school

Lund University is investing SEK 64 million in a graduate school focusing on societal challenges and the 2030 Agenda. Kristina Jönsson, associate professor in political science, will be its coordinator.

Lund researchers demand halving of emissions at Swedish universities

Eighteen researchers at Swedish universities, four of whom work at Lund University, wrote an opinion piece in the DN Debatt section of the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter on 29 October calling on Swedish universities to take their own research seriously and cut their emissions of greenhouse gases by half within five years.
