The theme for the 2019 HT Days is Mistakes
Certain mistakes go down in history. Some of them happen in war. Some of them we never discover. Both kinds exist in art. Studying them can teach us a great deal, just as studying why we make them: in language, in teaching, in our assessment of the world around us and our interpretation of others. We can eliminate some mistakes in the future – and some mistakes pop up again when we least expect them.
It is soon time for the Humanities and Theology Days at Lund University! This year our scholars of the history of religions, cognitive science, archaeology, history, literature, linguistics and cultural science will lecture on the theme of Mistakes.
This year’s programme of lectures includes:
•The future in the rear-view mirror – classic mistakes in predictions of the future.
•Mistakes we never see – if everything that is written is erased.
•Famous mistakes in the history of art.
•Mistakes with and without excuses.
•English only in secondary schools – mistake or opportunity, or both.
Please note that most of the lectures will be held in Swedish.
In addition to the lectures, the Robot Lab is holding an open house event, the Humanities Laboratory will be demonstrating Eye Tracking and the Humanities and Theology library will hold a book sale.

All lectures are open to the general public and free of charge. Seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
