A gradual opening up and optimism in the air
We are very happy to be back teaching on campus this fall! But we are mindful of the pandemic and any new developments. This also means that all our public events this fall will continue to be online. It has the added advantage that we reach many more people than before. Our webinars during the spring semester had between 30-150 participants.

Our first event this fall on 24th September is a lecture on Asian ecocinema with Kiu-wai Chu, Assistant Professor in Environmental Humanities/ Chinese Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. On 7th October, we are pleased to have Dr. Jyoti Sanghera discuss a new project that link macroeconomic analysis and policies with economic, social and cultural rights and the Sustainable Development Goals and on 8th October we welcome filmmaker, activist and founder of Good Food Fund, Jian Yi, who will will share his experiences and work

Stay tuned for more interesting public lectures, including more on events on sustainability and environmental issues, one event on the Belt and Road Initiative, and of course our annual alumni event!

This fall we have two visiting scholars, Maryia Danilovich who among other things work on the Belt and Road Initiative and on China and Belarus relations, and Philipp Renninger who works on comparative law and Covid regulations.

Wishing you all a safe and inspiring fall semester!
