Opening up in the Year of the Tiger
A new year and a fresh start in the third year of the pandemic! We are cautiously opening up with teaching on campus and with some in person events planned for the spring.

Looking back, last year saw quite a bit of changes and interesting developments at the Centre. We for example managed to reach out to new audiences thanks to Zoom. Scholars at the Centre also published a range of exciting works last year.

We are quite eager to have more opportunities to invite guests this year. First out is a vist by Bertil Lintner, a journalist and specialist on Myanmar who will talk about China's role in Myanmaron 2nd March. On 9th March we are visited by professor Frank Pieke who will talk about the Chinese Communist Party as a global force. On 5 April Professor Erica Baffelli will talk about how the Covid-19 pandemic impacted Buddhist social welfare activities in Japan. We still have a few webinars lined up with guests from Asia and elsewhere. On 28 February we have an event on environmental movements in Taiwan, and on 11 March we have an event exploring sacred waste from Thailand to Japan. Don't miss those!

All the best and hope to see you at the Centre!
