Subject description
CEC is recruiting a researcher within Land4biomass, a four-year research project on the potential and obstacles to mobilizing agricultural-based biomass in Sweden for bioenergy and biofuel while preserving biodiversity and ecosystem function. The researcher will develop future scenarios for bioenergy and other agricultural products, in collaboration with industry, agriculture and government actors, evaluate policy and management options, conduct interdisciplinary analyses and syntheses in collaboration with the other researchers in the project (including three PhDs), and conduct project coordination tasks.

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English
  • Experience in working with quantitative and qualitative social science methods
  • Experience in analyzing results from stakeholder workshops
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research on land use
  • Literacy synthesis skills
  • Excellent publication record
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management ability 

Meriting assessment criteria and other qualifications

  • Experience in developing scenarios in the field of land use, ideally using participative approaches
  • Experience in evaluating biomass-based production
  • Experience in collaboration with various research groups and subjects
  • Experience of working with relevant customers
  • Experience in system analysis
  • Experience in modeling changes in land use
  • Written and oral communication in Swedish

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
Permanent appointment with the desired start date 2020-05-15, a probationary period of 6 months will be applicable
