640x640transp Råd risar och rosar Lunds klimatarbete
640x640transp "Bra jobbat, men det räcker inte”. Det var det samlade utlåtandet från Lunds kommuns klimatpolitiska råd, som består av lundaforskare. I en ny rapport har de granskat kommunens miljöarbete och kommit fram till att kommunen får i hemläxa att ta mobilitetsmålet på större allvar.

640x640transp 2021 års Hållbarhetsvecka gick av stapeln den 3–8 maj och bestod av runt femtio digitala evenemang, utställningar utomhus, workshops och guidade turer. Några av eventen spelades in och går att se i efterhand.

Hur skapar vi kunskap om hållbar utveckling?
Den 4 maj hölls den första gemensamma forskningskonferensen om hållbar utveckling vid Lunds universitet. Under dagen presenterades över 70 forskningsbidrag för forskare, studenter och internationella deltagare. Konferensen synliggjorde den stora repertoar av hållbarhetsrelaterad forskning som finns på universitetet, samtidigt som potential för mer samarbete och utmaningar med kunskap om hållbar utveckling diskuterades.

Nytt samarbete ska främja hållbara innovationer
I slutet av 2019 invigde UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) ett innovationskontor på Ideon i Lund, ett av tre i världen. Nu tecknar UNOPS S3i Innovation centrat ett avtal med Lunds universitet. Med ett tätare samarbete ska fler hållbara innovationer skapas och lättare hitta fram till utvecklingsländer runt om i världen, är tanken.

Kampanjer för ökat hållbart resande
Mjuka åtgärder, som kampanjer och gratis provperioder, kan med ny teknik bli bättre utvärderade och i större utsträckning påverka resbeteenden i en mer hållbar riktning, det visar en aktuell avhandling från Lunds universitet.

Humlehund i forskningens tjänst
I sommar ska doktoranden Sofia Blomqvist ut och undersöka hur pollinerande insekter, som humlor och solitära bin, vid vägkanter mår. Det finns dock ett problem. Humlebon är väldigt svåra att hitta. Nu hoppas hon kunna träna hunden Ylle att hjälpa henne.

Utbildning för alla – kan LTH-studenternas affärsmodell vara en del av lösningen?
Tillgång till utbildning är en del av FN:s hållbarhetsmål – i mål 4 ”God utbildning för alla” beskrivs utbildning som en mänsklig rättighet. Kan studielån vara en lösning för att stötta högre utbildning i utvecklingsländer? Frågan ställer sig LTH-studenterna Carl Johansson och Jacob Lundborg Ander i sitt examensarbete i Innovationsteknik.

How can we support projects to build more than just financially sustainable businesses? What are we doing to contribute to the global sustainability goals? Lund University Innovation have, together with expert help in sustainability, developed a model for coaching and supporting our early-stage innovation projects and companies in sustainability. Together we look at the project's positive and negative impact and help to form a basis for strategic sustainability work.

New study shows multiple health outcomes for women using menstrual cups in Tanzania
A unique pilot study from Tanzania, exploring the link between health – economy – well-being for women using menstrual cups, shows that extended menstrual cup use has multiple direct and indirect health outcomes, impacting women's physical and physiological health.

Heat Action Plans in urban cities risks excluding the most vulnerable
New study identifies key knowledge gaps in the evaluation of Ahmedabad’s Heat Action Plan (HAP), and highlights the need to look at the distribution of policy impacts in cities in more detail - to find out who has benefited or been excluded from the outcomes, and what barriers need to be tackled for more inclusive and effective results.

Året är 2050. Selma är död. Men innan hon begravs får hon chansen att tala direkt med en människa som lever i vår tid, sommaren år 2021. 10 June: SRA workshop series: How to use modelling as decision support
Do you want to learn more about how to relate your research to sustainable development and initiate collaborations with researchers in other fields? The Strategic Research Areas, in collaboration with Sustainability Forum, is arranging a series of workshops with focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, during 2021.
This workshop will deepen the question of why we need modelling. To understand the complexity in different societal challenges as well as finding system solutions, modelling is a powerful tool.

New ideas and research are needed to identify and solve complex societal challenges. The Lund University PhD Conference on Sustainable Development is an opportunity to encourage interdisciplinary cooperation in order to further academic research on all aspects of sustainability. The Agenda 2030 Graduate School at Lund University invites all PhD students at Lund University with an interest in sustainable development, the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to participate. Welcome to participate in the European Researchers’ Nights’ new national digital platform, Borrow a researcher. To enable schools all over Sweden to borrow a researcher, a national digital booking platform is being developed in 2021. Borrow a researcher is a new booking platform to reach people who usually don´t come in contact with research, such as schools located far from research institutes and higher education institutions.

Formas: International network contribution for Agenda 2030

The aim of the cooperation in the networks is to prepare for a joint research and innovation application in other national and international calls. The planned collaboration must be jointly developed by all parties in the network, be clearly based on mutually identified needs and equal collaboration. The funding refers to networking activities and is not intended to fund research and innovation projects.

Vinnova: Future attractive habitats - lessons learned from pandemic

We are looking for innovation projects that produce proposals for what the attractive living environments of the future can look like. Innovation projects must have a system perspective and address more perspectives linked to the physical environment. Needs owners must be involved and the projects linked to concrete physical locations. We demand project that can produce models, sketches and prototypes connected to physical places in cities and communities.

Strategic mobility is the call for you who want to broaden your horizons. SFF finances the salary cost for you who, for a period of time, want to move between industry/business/government/hospitals to academia/research institutes, or the other way around. PhD Course: Sustainable Development – a Systems View, 5 or 7,5 hp
Society’s complex sustainability challenges concern all of us! By relating important scientific questions to sustainability, PhD students can play an important role in addressing these challenges. This course gives you the opportunity to learn about sustainable development from different theoretical perspectives and reflect on how these relate to your own research. Preparatory assignments are “on-demand” to make it easier for you to complete them despite busy schedules. Each module ends with a scheduled seminar, in which the topic of the module is discussed with national and international experts in the area. The extended course (7,5 hp) also includes an individual project.
