SRA: Seed funding for emerging research topics Deadline: 15 September Lund University has decided to support the development of new research opportunities for the University’s Strategic Research Areas (SRAs) by allocating 6 MSEK for a call for seed funding of projects for emerging research topics. Formas: New forest management practices for multiple societal goals Opens: 15 April, Deadline: 8 June 2022 Alternative forest management methods, such as continuous cover forestry, are increasingly highlighted in Swedish and international forest policy, but both research and practical experience in the field are still limited. Robust knowledge is lacking about the effects and benefits for many key societal goals, and about opportunities and challenges for the implementation of the methods in practice. Nordforsk: Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change Deadline: 19 May The programme is now issuing a call for proposals for research projects. Available budget is approx. NOK 60 million. The call strives for co-operation between research fields within different thematic areas. All proposals must address two or more of the thematic areas. The background and the framework of the programme are further elaborated on in the programme memorandum.

- Plants adapted for future Nordic and Baltic conditions
- Increased local and regional protein production for food and feed
- Plants and soil as a carbon sink

SSF: Industrial Doctoral Student 2022 Deadline: 19 May To increase the collaboration between industry and academia, the Foundation for Strategic Research, SSF, is investing 30 million SEK in industrial doctoral students.
