Disaster Diplomacy: Do disaster-related activities create peace or conflict? 30 November 10:15-11:30
The ASG Wildfires in the Anthropocene invites you to a public seminar focused on disasters, wildfires and diplomacy with Professor Ilan Kelman from UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction. Ilan Kelman is a professor of Disasters and Health and has a wide research focus that includes climate change impacts, human health, migration, disaster risk management, peace and diplomacy.

Social resilience webinars The focus of the webinars are social resilience in crisis times. The Social Resilience Theme is devoted to stimulating critical cross- and interdisciplinary research on resilience, theoretically, methodologically, and empirically. Social resilience and crises tend to be intimately intertwined with one another. With this webinar series, we welcome various audiences to participate in examining social resilience in crisis times as shaped in various contexts.

Volvo Environment Prize Deadline: 10 January 2023 The Volvo Environment Prize recognizes researchers who have made a significant research impact. Nominations are made by colleagues and institutions - self-nominations are not possible. The span of disciplines and activities for which nominations can be made is wide and includes all disciplines which have relevance to the environment. The research of nominees should be based on scientific grounds but must clearly show impacts outside of the specific discipline. The Prize is awarded annually and consists of a hand-crafted diploma, a glass sculpture and a cash award of SEK 1.5 million. Call text at environment-prize.com |

Formas: The links between climate change, water and biodiversity Open: 16 January 2023, Deadline: 30 March 2023 Formas is planning to open a call focusing on the links between climate change, water and biodiversity, and how related challenges can be addressed holistically. The call will welcome researchers from all disciplines. We intend to fund research projects on this topic in two four-year stages. This call is for stage 1. We have reserved a total of 120 million SEK for the first stage. Preliminary, applicants may apply for a maximum of 12–16 million SEK for stage 1. Call text at formas.se |

Forte: Co-production for a Sustainable Working Life 2023 Deadline: 17 January 2023 In this call for proposals you can apply for project grants for the period 1 July 2023–30 June 2026, given within the framework of the national research programme on working life. The research shall be carried out jointly by researchers and users, so called co-production, and contribute knowledge that supports the sustainable development of working life. The KTH Great Prize Deadline: proposals may be submitted on an ongoing basis The prize is taken from the proceeds of a donation made in 1944 and which now stands at one million two hundred thousand SEK (2021). According to the donor, who wished to be and has remained anonymous, the prize shall be awarded to:
"A person who, through epoch-making discoveries and the creation of new values and by ingenious applications of findings gained on the practical aspects of life, promotes Sweden's continued material progress, or a person who by means of scientific research has discovered particularly valuable principles or methods which are useful for applications, which promote the above purpose, or a person who through artistic activities "exerts a powerful influence particularly on the spiritual life of her own people."
