Konsekvenser av nuvarande inreseförbud
Den 17 mars 2020 infördes inreseförbud till Sverige med anledning av spridningen av covid-19. Inrese-förbudet gäller från och med den 19 mars och varar under 30 dagar. Personer som har uppehållstillstånd eller uppehållsrätt i Sverige, och som ska återvända hem, undantas från förbudet. Begreppet ”återvända hem” förtydligas dock inte.

I nuläget rekommenderar vi alltså nyanställda och/ eller nyantagna tredjelandsmedborgare, med nya uppehålls- eller arbetstillstånd, att inte resa till Sverige, eftersom de kan bli nekade inresa.

Consequences of the current travel ban to Sweden
On 17 March 2020, Sweden introduced a travel ban as a result of the ongoing spread of COVID-19. The travel ban entered into effect on 19 March and will last for 30 days. Persons who have a residence permit or right of residence in Sweden, and who are to return home, are exempted from the ban. However, the concept of "returning home" is not clarified.
 
Thus, at present, we recommend that newly employed and/or newly admitted third-country nationals, with new residence or work permits, not travel to Sweden, as they may be denied entry.

SANORD:s 3MT-tävling för doktorander
SANORD (Southern African – Nordic Centre) är LU:s prioriterade nätverk för samarbete med södra Afrika. SANORD arrangerar nu en digital ”Three-Minute Thesis Competition” där doktorander skickar in tre-minuters presentation av sin forskning.

Forskningen ska vara relevant för södra Afrika eller SANORD:s strategi.

Första pris i den globala tävlingen är ett stipendium (resa, hotell och konferens) för att presentera forskningen vid SANORD:s årliga konferens i Bergen 9-11 september 2020.

Anmälan till tävlingen görs senast den 5 april.

The SANORD 3MT Competition for doctoral students
The SANORD network (Southern African – Nordic Centre) is a network of universities committed to address global challenges and develop academic collaboration between Southern Africa and the Nordic region. SANORD now opens the SANORD 3MT competition.

The research presented should be relevant for southern Africa or the SANORD Strategy.

The first prize in the global round of the competition is to hold a 3-minute presentation at the annual SANORD conference in Bergen, Norway, 9-11 September 2020 through a stipend covering the conference fee, travel and accommodation.

To participate, please register no later than 5 April.

Submit your video no later than 27 April. After completing the registration, you will receive an email with instructions for the competition.

The Fulbright Commission is pleased to announce that the application for the 2021-22 Fulbright Graduate Student Program is now open.

Call for proposals for the CHER Conference in September
Engaged Universities: (De)constructing the Theory, Practice and Culture of Engagement in Higher Education in Rijeka (Croatia) on 2-4 September 2020
 
"With an increasing focus on multifaceted missions for higher education institutions, there is an international convergence of interest on issues about universities’ role in a wider society. Therefore, we would like to bring together interested researchers to join us in discussing and reflecting on how HEIs are coping with the (new) demands placed upon them, and how the various dimensions of change are intertwined."

Participants are invited to submit a paper, panel proposals or posters of relevance for the conference theme by 31 March 2020.
