With today´s high energy prices and the need to shift to renewable and sustainable energy sources there is a growing market for the possibility to store energy. Both energy which comes from solar or wind power etc but also energy storage systems which can utilize energy from the grid when there is a surplus in supply and therefore lower costs.
To store energy, different type of battery systems are used. A common feature of these type of systems is that they are DC systems and they need robust circuit protection since a short circuit in a battery system can have terrible consequences. To find circuit breakers that operate on DC and can handle high currents is normally not easy. In many cases a standard AC MCB is used, which are designed for AC current and not DC current which is more difficult for the MCB to handle. If the arc, which occur when a DC voltage is switched is not extinguished, the contacts in the MCB will weld together with critical failure as a consequence. |

The range is of the CBE, Circuit Breaker for Equipment, type which means it is intended for compact mounting in a front cover. However, if you prefer mounting on a DIN rail, we have solutions for that. |

Last but not least, we supply a standard range of 50 and 70mm² battery cables.
Our standard range of power cables is based on the “AMOSOFT” cable. That is a highly flexible, halogen free, cable approved for temperature s between –40 and +90 degrees C. The standard range consist of different length from 1,5 up to 3 m in blue and black color.
