A trend for power distribution is the usage of high DC voltages such as 400 VDC for example, instead of AC voltage. This reduces the losses that occur in the conversion between direct and alternating current.
In DC-systems where 12/24/48 VDC have previously been used, the possibility has arisen to reduce the amount of copper used in cables, busbar systems etc by using higher DC voltages. This is a way to reduce costs considerably.
Until now, there has not been any suitable MCB’s for higher DC voltages. Now, however, CBI’s newly developed Y-Frame is available. It is based on the proven hydraulic-magnetic principle, which means that the circuit breaker is not affected by high nor low ambient temperatures. |

Emcomp provides component solutions, material kits and subsystems in circuit protection and connection technology. We operate in Europe and Asia with sales offices in Sweden, Germany and China.
Innovative and reliable products have given us loyal customers in our five main application areas: Telecom, Datacenter, Renewable Energy & Energy Storage, Rolling Stock & Signalling and Marine Applications. The key to our success are the products themselves, such as Emcomp's hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers. They withstand considerably better harsh environments than the traditional thermal breakers. |
