In 2000, Göran Åstrand laid the foundation for Expando, a company that would go on to become a trusted partner in the defense industry. As we mark our 25th anniversary, Göran reflects on the journey, the challenges, and the vision that still drives us forward.

There is a massive increase in the number of satellites being launched into orbit. While the past decade saw an average of 380 satellites launched per year, the next few years are expected to see that number skyrocket to around 1,700 per year.
On August 16, 2024, Sweden’s Armed Forces quietly launched Gna-3, a 4-kilogram cubesat becoming, Sweden's first satellite in orbit.

SecD-Day is the largest defence industry exhibition ever held in Finland, exceeding all expectations in terms of impact. A total of 190 companies from 15 different countries participated.

During the defense market day the Finnish-Swedish bilateral cooperation, NATO and upcoming procurements were discussed. Expando’s own Henrik Plym-Forshell (far left on the panel) was invited to a panel discussion regarding what the NATO membership could mean for Sweden and Finland defence industries.
Some of the interesting topics discussed were; NATO, Swedish/Finnish collaborations and defense procurement.
