In this issue, we celebrate a major milestone with the people who’ve made it all possible, our long-standing partners and customers. During an unforgettable day in the Stockholm archipelago, complete with a ride aboard a legendary Navy ship we celebrated Expando's 25th year.
We also share a case study on how we solved a complicated challenge for a defence customer. On top of that, we dive into the future of defense and space technology, exploring how rugged VPX systems are redefining performance in extreme environments, and why Sweden must accelerate its momentum to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving NewSpace arena. |

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating this important milestone with our partners, owners, and most importantly – our valued customers. Many of these relationships have lasted over 20 years, and we’re incredibly proud and grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us.
To mark the occasion, we spent a memorable day together at a former military base in the Stockholm archipelago. One of the highlights? A ride aboard the historic Swedish Navy ship Spica 121 – a true classic! |

A defense sector client approached us at Expando with a highly specialized need: to develop a Telemetry Mission Computer that could operate reliably within the confined and rugged environment of a missile system. The system also needed to integrate FPGA capabilities, support a high number of I/O interfaces, and crucially also include USB 3.0 support which is a challenge in itself on computers with mil connectors. |

In highly constrained environments such as fighter jets, VPX is virtually the only viable option. Due to its high ruggedness, VPX-based solutions eliminate the need for external protection. This ensures that the system delivers both optimal functionality and long-term resilience. The standardized nature of VPX ensures that it meets stringent military demands and even surpasses them in many cases. |

More than a technological trend, NewSpace represents a new business model a service-based, agile, and commercially driven. A striking and recurrent theme throughout the conference was Sweden’s lagging position in space development. |

We’re excited to announce that Expando will be participating in DALO Industry Days 2025 – Scandinavia’s largest defense industry exhibition! You’ll find us at booth BSA129, where we look forward to connecting with defense professionals, industry partners, and international stakeholders. |
