Welcome to a research day at the Marine Center, Simrishamn!
Lund University and Simrishamn Municipality runs a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research environment at the Marine Center. The research focuses on the sea, coastal environment, water, blue food, and coastal issues and is conducted in close collaboration with society.
Join us on October 11th for presentation of the activities at Marint centrum and of current and upcoming research. We invite researchers who are already active in research environment and those who are curious to learn more about our activities.
The Marine Center was established in 2010 as a place where the public sector, business, and academia can come together and collaborate on challenges and solutions related to the Baltic Sea. We offer a field laboratory, office spaces, meeting rooms, and conference facilities. In the building you also find the municipality’s business administration, port office, and high school, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, Nyföretagar centrum, and Lund University as well as private companies. Marint centrum has an established network of contacts with authorities, municipalities, and companies at the regional and national levels, as well as within the EU.
Currently, there are approximately 15 ongoing projects involving about a dozen researchers from Lund University. During the spring about ten new projects were developed.
