Fall events and plans for the spring
On 24-25 October the Graduate School held a workshop on podcasting lead by PhD candidate Joanne Kuai. Three PhD students attended, as well as one intern and two researchers, and produced two podcast for the Nordic Asia Podcast. The podcast episodes will be released in early December so stay tuned. The plan is to produce at least four podcasts per year. If you are interested to contribute or have ideas do get in touch!

A career event and retreat has just taken place at Sigtunastiftelsen (6-8 November) where the state of knowledge about Asian countries, different career paths, and advice on contacts with journalists as well as on grant applications were addressed. The next retreat will take place 9-11 June in Skanör so don't missed that opportunity!

One more large event will take place this fall, a workshop on international relations and foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific held in Lund on 27-28 November. Even if you haven't signed up for that but like to listen to the two keynotes you are most welcome.

Planning for the spring is well underway already. We start out with a course on Asia in the Global Economy and with a workshop/course on ethics and fieldwork in authoritarian contexts on 27-28 February. In March we will have another workshop/course on visual methods and art-based research with invited researchers and artists, and where PhD students also can bring their own projects or ideas for projects. Since the first workshop on presentation skills and public speaking was much appreciated we will give it again on 8 May.

We also welcome PhD students to apply for mobility grants to visit any of the partner institutions.

There will also be some other events and online lectures so keep your eyes open for that, and contact us if you have any ideas!

Wishing you all the best!
