This is the third year of the graduate school and we look forward to a range of new events and opportunities for PhD students.
First of all a big congratulations to three PhD students who graduated in the fall and have written about different aspects of Asian societies: Yeonju Jung, Paul Vrieze and Shen QingThe graduate school has contributed and produced three podcast episodes within the Nordic Asia Podcast, and if you have ideas for future episodes you are welcome to get in touch. Many thanks to Joanne Kuai who held the workshop on podcasting! There is still room for more participants in the presentation skills workshop on 8th May in Lund. We will pay for travel and accommodation for those who come from other parts of Sweden. New deadline to apply is 15 March. The other events for the spring are now closed and fully booked but we are already planning events for the fall. One idea is to let PhD students organise their own workshop in Lund. The requirement is that several of you need to get together to come up with a topic of broader interest. Please send a short abstract, a preliminary budget (we can set aside around 80 000 SEK for it), and possible keynotes. Think about sustainable ways of travelling. Send your suggestion to Marina ( marina.svensson@ace.lu.se ) by 15 March. Other events discussed for the fall are to again offer a workshop on policy writing in Stockholm and announce the course Asia in the Global Economy. More information to follow in our next newsletter but do get in touch already now if you find it interesting or if you have any other ideas! Wishing you a fruitful and stimulating spring semester!
