Registration is now open for the international conference “Disrupted Histories, Contested Futures: Korean Adoption, Politics, and Activism in Europe” (May 7–8, 2026). This two-day conference will be a historic gathering of both earlier and newer generations of scholars and activists working on Korean transnational adoption in Europe. Together, we will reflect on decades of community building, activism, and recent state-led investigations, while also taking a critical look at how US-dominant frameworks have shaped understandings of transnational adoption—and what the future of critical debate and engagement in Europe might look like. The programme includes a keynote by Professor Eleana Kim (UC Irvine), a book reading by Lee Langvad, as well as paper presentations and roundtable discussions. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Please also note that no online streaming will be provided. In conjunction with the conference, Krognoshuset is organizing an exhibition featuring transnational adoptees.
