Information from Management

CEC is now coming up to speed with many recruitments that were postponed over the last couple of years! At the moment, four positions as postdoctoral fellows within the fields of soil microbiology, feedback between climate and European forests, micropollutants and microbial ecology in arctic ecosystems are open for applications. And more are in the pipeline so keep an eye on the CEC web site for announcements and help to spread the news!

We are happy to welcome Emma Enström – the first industrial graduate student (industridoktorand) in CEC’s history! Emma will work under the framework of Sweden Water research and collaborate with CEC together with supervisor Johanna Alkan Olsson.

BCD Travel Sweden - new travel agency from 1 February 2023
The new booking system from BCD Travel is called Cytric. A training course is scheduled for 1 February and more information is available on Lund University's Staff Pages. 
Egencia will handle bookings until 31 January 2023 and will also be available to help with any enquiries for bookings made before the end date. Please ensure you save any travel documents from Egencia if you book close to the end date as the Egecia booking page will be closed after 31 January. If you already have a travel profile that allows you to book, your access will be automatically transferred over to the new system. If you do not have a travel profile you can apply for one through Lucat.

Opportunities

Apply for the faculty's travel and research grants
Researchers, doctoral students, teaching staff and others can now apply for the Faculty of Science’s travel and research grants. The application deadline is 14 February. Please note that doctoral students need to enclose a supervisor’s statement with the application.

On 14 February, Lund University and Lund International Citizen Hub organise a seminar where they invite Försäkringskassan (Sweden’s social insurance agency). The seminar will be in English and the purpose is to clarify Försäkringskassan’s service.

Sustainability week 2023 – a great opportunity to present your research
Sustainability week is an annual event organised as a joint venture by Lund University and Lund municipality. The program offers discussions and actions, exploring both the societal challenges of today and hopeful visions for the future.
