Summer is here and regardless of whether you primarily think of it as a time for fieldwork, holiday or something else, we wish you a nice time and hope that you are able to enjoy, relax and find new energy before the autumn semester starts! A warm welcome to Ann Åkerman who has joined the Sustainability Forum office in the capacity of coordinator! Ann can be found in the office about two days per week and she will be the primary link between the strategic discussions in the steering committee and all the work carried out by our colleagues at CEC.

Café Le Mani will close for the summer, the last day open will be Friday, 16 June. It will open again on Monday, 28 August. 
What's up?

Easier to book rail travel in Europe
It will now be easier to take the train in Europe for your business travel needs. This means that we can further reduce the climate impact of our business travel. As of 1 June 2023, you are to book all rail travel in Europe via the Danish rail travel agency, Togrejse. Read more on the Staff Pages about booking rail travel abroad.

Welcome to the 3rd Knowledge for Sustainable Development Research Conference
Organised by the Research Board in collaboration with the Sustainability Forum at Lund University, this year’s conference will highlight sustainability research at Lund University and different ways to go from research to impact.


The conference will take place on November 7, at Stadshallen in Lund. A call for abstracts is now open and the deadline for submitting abstracts is 8 September. To learn more about the conference and how to register, visit:

New field laboratory at the Marine Centre
Lund University is strengthening its marine biology profile with a new, modern field laboratory at the Marine Centre in Simrishamn. The field lab was inaugurated on Tuesday and the news of the field lab was highlighted by Ystads Allehanda, Sveriges Radio, Lund University's magazine and in a press release where Maria Hansson was quoted.

Hyltemossa in a TV report on drought and carbon dioxide uptake
SVT has visited ICOS research infrastructure Hyltemossa in northern Skåne regarding the impact of drought on the forest's carbon dioxide uptake. Anders Lindroth and Tobias Biermann participate in the programme.
