Information from Management

Dear CEC,
On Monday this week, the administration went to visit the ICOS research station at Hyltemossa and got to enjoy a fabulous guided tour of the site by Tobias, Thomas and Michal – Thank you!
We warmly recommend everyone to take the opportunity to visit Hyltemossa on 3 June when it’s Open house at the station!

For more events, check the CEC calendar. And please notice all the announced job opportunities and help to spread the news within relevant networks.

The work on the coordination of a joint department (CIG) continues so make sure to keep reading the CEC newsletters and on the faculty’s internal website, as well as joining the Friday breakfasts and other upcoming information meetings.
Have a nice long weekend!

Procedures for the production of publications at the CEC
The CEC (Director Per Persson) has adopted procedures for producing syntheses, reports and policy briefs. The reason is both quality assurance and that researchers should be able to get better support. You can read more about the procedures on our staff pages on the web. There you will also find a checklist of things to consider. The most important thing in brief: Contact the overall responsible for publications (Markku Rummukainen) and the communications officer at CEC (Anna Maria Erling) in good time if you have plans for a publication. (NOTE this is not about scientific papers in scientific journals.)

Public Holiday
Tuesday, 6 June is a public holiday and Monday is bridge day which means that at least the administration will be out of office.

Reduced administrative support during summer
During the summer (weeks 26-32) the administrative support will be reduced. This includes finance support, HR support, student administration as well as research administration and collaboration (BECC, MERGE, LU Land, Sustainability Forum, ClimBeco and Agenda 2030 research school). We ask for your understanding that during this period only urgent matters will be handled. Available contact for urgent matters during this period are specified on CEC's websites (Staff pages | Centre for Environmental and Climate Science (CEC) (lu.se))

  • Invoices: Process your invoices before you take leave to avoid late payment fees.
  • Credit card payments: Using the CEC credit card for payments will not be available during the summer months, please make other arrangements.
Organisational and social work environment survey at CEC
On Monday, 29 May the Work environment survey was sent out. Your responses are anonymous but the links are personal so please find the email sent out. For questions, please contact Ragnhild Möller, the Work environment coordinator at the Faculty ragnhild.moller@science.lu.se

CEC BBQ
Thank you to the organisers of the CEC BBQ who gave us a memorable evening spent in the best way possible: with great food and company! We were lucky to have such favourable conditions and happy that we continue this summer tradition. Already looking forward to next year!

How to cite data from ICOS, ACTRIS or SITES
The three research infrastructures ICOS, ACTRIS and SITES are providing open data (mainly) through their data portals for fair use. By downloading and using the data, you agree on the data license, which includes that the data origin should be cited
To support you with this, we updated the information about how to cite data from these RIs on our website.
We would also like to encourage you to manually link your publications that are connected to the RIs in the LU's research portal LUCRIS to the respective infrastructure (e.g. ICOS Sweden, ACTRIS Sweden, ICOS Carbon Portal). Both help us to show that the RIs are actually being used which is important for their future financial support.
