During this webinar, Ana Halbach from the University of Alcalá will discuss the need to put language in the center of a classroom where English is used - a foreign or second language for both the participants and (often) the lecturers. Garo Harwood, Lund University will share how intercultural awareness workshops for students can raise awareness of differences in core values between cultures and how contrasting communication styles could lead to misunderstandings.
In the Spotlight on Education series, two EUGLOH partners share their experiences and challenges in education. The webinars are interactive, and the participants are encouraged to bring their perspectives to the discussion.
The webinar will be recorded and made available on the EUGLOH YouTube channel.

12 December – Measuring and enhancing student mobilities
The first webinar of the EUA series "Toward Tirana 2024, developments in the EHEA" will provide an introduction to mobility through the lens of the Bologna Process with insights into the historical and evolving role mobility has played. This event takes place on 12 December 2023, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET. The webinar will include a discussion on why the mobility benchmark, once a pioneering idea, may need an update and possibly a redefinition, for example regarding the differentiation of mobility statistics for different study cycles. We will also discuss whether and how the Bologna Process will consider and recognise additional and alternative approaches for internationalisation, such as online exchanges and internationalisation at home.
