New on the job: Alumna Maria Malmer Stenergard is Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs
On Tuesday, 10 September, during the government declaration, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced changes in the government. Alumna Maria Malmer Stenergard was appointed Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs. Maria is based in Åhus. Early interactions between Europeans and Indigenous North Americans revealed
By examining ancient walrus DNA, an international research team led by Lund University have retraced the walrus ivory trade routes of the Viking Age. They found that Norse Vikings and Arctic Indigenous peoples were probably meeting and trading ivory in remote parts of High Arctic Greenland, several centuries before Christopher Columbus “discovered” North America.
