"Vintern rasat" – one of Sweden's most beloved spring songs – was created by a Lund University alumnus.
Otto Lindblad composed the melody nearly 200 years ago, and to this day, it is sung at spring celebrations all across Sweden.

Hold on to your hats – a new classic in the making?

This year, audiences will be treated to a brand-new spring song, created through an open composition competition held in late winter. The contest, announced via the website and social media, attracted many submissions.

Read more about that and just how much the May Day singers rehearse before their televised performance on the steps.

The answer may just surprise you...
