Every young person is entitled to be heard and involved in matters that concern them. But how can decision makers safeguard meaningful child and youth participation in times of crisis? This new publication from Nordic Welfare Centre contains a checklist with 34 recommendations and 9 promising examples to build resilient structures for the future.
Children’s participation and influence during Covid-19
Institutions working for and with children and youth in the Nordic region were not prepared to protect children’s rights when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. In many cases children’s voices were ignored and often children and youth were consulted only after decisions were made. These serious lessons are highlighted in a new report commissioned by the Nordic Welfare Centre.

In this webinar held in February 2023 the Nordic Welfare Centre presented new Nordic knowledge on the impact of the pandemic on social isolation and loneliness. We also presented some examples of promising efforts from the Nordic countries designed to improve the wellbeing of people experiencing loneliness.
