Universell utformning handlar om att från början skapa lösningar som fungerar för så många som möjligt. Men kostar det mer att utforma tjänster, byggnader och service så de är tillgängliga för alla, och hur stor är nyttan? Det finns flera sätt att utvärdera vilken nytta och vilka kostnader olika åtgärder inom universell utformning för med sig. “Decision-makers were poorly prepared to hear and involve youth during the pandemic.” That is what the majority of the 120 youth participants stated in our poll during the Nordic Youth Summit in Reykjavik, Iceland. Don’t just use youth to put a stamp of approval on decisions they weren’t part of! That is one of the five principles that The Norwegian Children and Youth Council has issued to help decision makers ensure meaningful participation. The covid pandemic showed that politicians and decision-makers in the Nordic region must get better at listening to and involving children and young people and implementing meaningful participation.
