Financing until 2022 is now granted

Dear LIGHTer International News reader

Now that the summer holidays are at the door, it feels very nice that we have been granted financing for SIP LIGHTer until 2022. The good results of the six-year evaluation mean that we continue our operations with the same strength and joy as before.

Together we create larger technology leaps that radically lower weight. We increase our international cooperation. We strengthen our work regarding sustainability even more and develop lightweight solutions that meet all of the UN's 17 global sustainability goals. Here, our chair of the board Bengt Nilsson, CEO Lamera, tells us more about our plans for the future in a short film.

It is a great pleasure to work with you all in SIP LIGHTer. Thank you for another semester!

We wish you a very nice summer!

Name adjustments in LIGHTer
As of 1 June, 2020, our strategic innovation programme is called SIP LIGHTer and our membership programme is called Lightweight Membership Programme.

The LIGHTer brand was born almost ten years ago from a Swedish lightweight collaboration between industrial companies, academia, and institutes. Today, LIGHTer stands for a significantly greater, cross-border cooperation around lightweight in Sweden - and it is expanding internationally.

The Swedish lightweight network consists of two parts, a strategic innovation program financed by Vinnova, The Swedish Energy Agency and Formas and a membership programme financed by the members.

To be even more clear in our communication, and to distinguish between what happens in the strategic innovation programme and in our membership programme, we will make name adjustments. The reason is that our financiers want a clearer name difference between the two parts. Apart from the name-issue, our financiers are very satisfied with our work and we plan to continue working as before with your needs in focus.

Mobile protection with minimal risk of spreading infection
Lamera AB has developed an ultra-light module that is used in the work against the spread of the corona virus. HybrixTM cleantech solution for temporary module-built medically clean premises. Together with development partners, Lamera AB has developed a high-quality weather protection that can contribute to minimal spread of infection.

The product is intended primarily for use in disasters and other emergency situations in society both in Sweden and internationally. Important aspects of the development work were that the product should offer functionality but also be easily transported in flat packages. For adaptation for air cargo, a great deal of focus has been placed on developing a lightweight product. A complete unit with 17.6 m2 floor area weighs from approximately 150 kg.
