It has been an exciting first part of the year. We have welcomed three new members in LIGHTer Academy Network, read more about one of them - Dr. Greta Lindwall - below. Our early call for projects resulted in 49 applications about different aspects of lightweight design.
We are happy to announce that the LIGHTer International Conference programme is now available. We would be honored if you would join us in beautiful Gothenburg in November! Read more about the conference below, don´t miss our early bird offer.
LIGHTer has been given the opportunity to host a lightweight symposium at EUROMAT 2019 in Stockholm on September 5. We hope to see you there!
Have a nice summer!
Best Regards, Cecilia, Fredrik and Jasmine

A group of LIGHTer PhD network students, from Örebro University, Chalmers, KTH, LTU, and Uppsala University, visited MAX IV on the 3rd June in Lund.
Prof. Malin Åkermo, who is a member of LIGHTer Academy, also joined the visit. MAX IV is one of the most powerful synchrotron radiation facilities in the world. It brings exciting opportunities to a wide spectrum of research fields, both fundamental and applied, academy- as well as industry-oriented.

During the autumn of 2018, the LIGHTer Academy's network grew, and three more researchers became part of the network. Greta Lindwall from KTH is one of the new members. Greta works at the material science department at KTH with thermodynamic calculations and kinetics. Read more about how Greta Lindwall hope to contribute to the LIGHTer Academy and what challenges she would say are the most current for academic lightweight research.
