Europe’s game industry is a powerhouse of creativity, innovation, and cultural influence with global impact and strong growth potential. Yet, early-stage game studios continue to face a significant hurdle with limited access to private capital especially at the angel and venture stages.

The landscape may begin to shift. The European Commission’s equity instrument, MediaInvest, has recently expanded its scope through new strategic partnerships including with Sweden-based Behold VC to drive innovation and scale in Europe’s dynamic gaming ecosystem. The momentum is here. The question is: How can we better attract and mobilise private co-investments into the European game industry?
