Opportunities for international fundig If you are interested in research or development with international actors, you can apply for international funding. We have made available a list summarising some opportuinities for international funding in 2018 on LIGHTer's website. Katinka is our new programme administrator Katinka Ernstsson has replaced Jenny Kierkemann as LIGHTer's new programme administrator. Katinka started on February 12. LIGHTer presents paper in Multifunctional Materials A new international scientific journal  - with high relevance for lightweight technologies  - has been launched. It is called Multifunctional Materials. In the very first issue, a paper from LIGHTer Academy will be published. It is called Graphitic microstructure and performance of carbon fibre Li-ion structural battery electrodes and has been written by Fang Liu, Dan Zenkert and Leif Asp among others LIGHTer Academy LIGHTer Academy is a national initiative within LIGHTer to gather high level expertise within academia, research institutes and companies intended to create break-through research with long-term impact on materials,processes and design for lightweight solutions. More about LIGHTer Academy and its participants is found on LIGHTer's website. 50M SEK in this year's big call This year's only call for larger research and innovation projects opens today and closes in June 2018. There will be approximately 50 M SEK in the budget, which is an important increase compared to previous calls. Applicatons for both R&D-projects and studies of realisation of explorative, disruptive ideas on low TRL are welcome. The call will cover our four innovation themes. More information will be available in Swedish on our website soon. Please Contact Katinka Ernstsson for more information in English Seminar: Solutions to Composites Challenges On March 2nd, we arranged a very well attended seminar together with Chalmers University of Technology: Solutions to Composites Challenges. Invited international speakers were: Dr Soraia Pimenta, Imperial Collge and Prof. Veronique Michaud, EPFL120 people attended the seminar and the evaluation shows that they were very satisfied with the day. April 22-25: PhD course "Production of metallic structure" LTU/Gestamp Hardtech, Luleå May 4: LIGHTer SME preliminarily closes its call. May 16: LIGHTer Results workshop and Board Meeting, Gothenburg May 29-30: LIGHTer is talking at "Faszination Hybrider Leichtbau" in Wolfsburg, Germany. Open Hybrid LabFactory is organising the Conference. June 21(prel): LIGHTer's only large call for research and innovation projects 2018 closes.
