The Dress Makes the Man, Haute Couture - A New Era provides a unique behind the scenes glimpse of a long-standing fashion genre undergoing radical change.
The exhibition features a collection of designer dresses custom ordered by Fredrik Robertsson, one of the leading figures in the new wave of haute couture clients. Some 50 of Fredrik Robertsson’s creations are on view, as well as a large number of unique photographs by Ea Czyz documenting Robertsson’s visits to Paris over the years. Together they provide unique insights into the art of self-expression and the new era of Paris haute couture.
This must-see exhibition runs until 24 August 2025.
Feskekörkan will be 150 in November – and everyone’s welcome to the celebrations!
The iconic Feskekörka market hall, built in 1874, reopened earlier this year after an almost four year long renovation. It’s packed full of fish counters selling spankingly fresh fish, as well as an array of restaurants providing delicious seafood dishes and Ekmans Bar, with schnapps, wines, beers and Nordic tapas. A pre-party is already underway, with a daily selection of offers costing just 150 SEK during week 38, but the main celebrations will be from 1-10 November, with happenings and events every day.
Meet a new Local: Try your hand at watercolour painting in inspirational surroundings
One of our newest Locals is not just new to Meet the Locals but kind of new to Sweden too. Originally from Italy, Chiara came for a visit during the pandemic and got stuck here for a few months. Being an artist, she sought out other artists and became a regular visitor at Lerverk Galleri. Now she lives in Gothenburg and is part of the collective who run the gallery space.
A visit with Chiara is mainly about having a go, or developing your watercolour skills. The setting of the historic Kronhuset square and being surrounded by all the beautiful creations on display in the Gallery are sure to get your creative wheels turning. And of course, there will be a break for fika and the opportunity to get to know each other.
All our Locals are private individuals who will meet you in their spare time, so if your first choice is busy, try another, meeting up with any of our Locals is a great way to get an introduction to Swedish life and to pick up some insider tips for the rest of your stay.
