Christmas at Liseberg opens on 16 November, an enchanting and cosy winter wonderland that will last longer than ever before, all the way through to 29 December. With four different Christmas themed markets, Liseberg provides the opportunity to experience everything from the beauty of Sweden and a magical old-fashioned Christmas, to the excitement of Santa’s Village and this year’s festive highlight – The Tyrolean Market.

Celebrate Gothenburg’s Lucia with a parade and concert on 13 December
The traditional crowning of St Lucia is celebrated all around Sweden. In Gothenburg the Lucia Parade will be accompanied by vehicles from the past and present from World of Volvo. They will escort the Lucia procession along Avenyn, Gothenburg’s main boulevard. Finally Gothenburg’s Lucia, accompanied by a 120-voice choir, will provide even more Christmas cheer with a concert at Götaplatsen.
The Lucia parade starts at 17:00 on 13 December on Avenyn, and the concert at Götaplatsen begins around 17:30.
Winter walks in Gothenburg’s archipelago – a new product with a Swiss tour operator
The Swiss tour operator Baumeler has launched a new product, winter hiking in the Gothenburg archipelago. As well as walks on the picturesque island of Höno you can also experience the festive Christmas atmosphere in Gothenburg. The trip includes a hike through Ersdalen Nature Reserve on the island and the opportunity to enjoy a fika in Gothenburg, after a walk up to the Skansen Kronan fortress.
