640x640transp
Sweden’s scenic cycling route along the Göta Canal has been named Europe’s best cycling route at the Fiets en Wandelbeurs fair in Utrecht, Netherlands. This award is a major recognition for Swedish cycle tourism and confirms the Göta Canal as one of Europe’s top destinations for cycling adventures.

In the past year, several international tour operators have packaged cycling trips along the Göta Canal, including Germany’s Reisen mit Sinnen and Wikinger Reisen, France’s Terres d’Aventure, the UK’s Regent Holidays, and Naar het Noorden from the Netherlands.

Charming Lydde Gård Wins STF Sustainability Award
640x640transp
Lydde Gård in Kinna, 60 km southeast of Gothenburg, has received the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award from the Swedish Tourist Association. By blending tradition with modern eco-friendly solutions—solar-heated water, rainwater-flushed toilets, and locally produced honey—the farm sets a new standard for sustainable travel.

The Larson family’s careful restoration and focus on reuse impressed the jury, especially their way of involving guests in the estate’s story.
