Organised by local company Skärgårdsidyllen, the tour includes oysters, shrimp or crayfish, seaweed, pickled herring, locally brewed beer or non-alcoholic alternatives, and a classic Swedish fika, with the focus firmly on local produce.
The two-to-three-hour walking tour brings together food, local stories and the charm of one of Bohuslän’s most picturesque seaside towns. Tours run from September to April, when the coastal waters are at their clearest and the shellfish are at their best. |

Way Out West returns to Gothenburg’s Slottsskogen this August, bringing three days of live music, film, talks and culture to the heart of the city. When the main festival closes for the evening, Stay Out West keeps the music going at venues across central Gothenburg.
This year’s line-up includes Lorde, Zara Larsson, The xx, The Cure, Gorillaz and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Sustainability has been central to the festival since its early years: Way Out West has been entirely vegetarian since 2012, with plenty of vegan food on offer, while its Greentopia platform brings together music, culture and ideas for a more sustainable future. |

For four late-summer days, central Gothenburg becomes one enormous free festival, with live music, dance, circus, street food and family entertainment spilling across its squares, parks and streets.
This year, Göteborgskalaset returns on a larger scale, with a main stage at Götaplatsen and part of Avenyn closed to traffic as restaurants and bars move out onto the boulevard.
The line-up includes Miriam Bryant, Teddybears, Sahara Hotnights and Yukimi, as well as Sarah Klang performing with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Beyond the headline concerts, visitors can discover emerging artists, take to the dance floor, watch circus performances in Kungsparken and eat their way through the festival’s expanded street-food programme. |
