Invitation to an online panel discussion 20 January
This is an invitation by Academics in Solidarity and Freie Universität Berlin regarding an online discussion on the relationship between excellence and solidarity in the context of support programs for at-risk researchers.
This is the third event in a series of “FUB Lunchtime Debates on the Future of Higher Education Internationalization” that will focus on the support programs and the (currently limited) long-term prospects for exiled scholars in academia. In times of unsure budgets, looming political crises, increasing threats to academic freedom worldwide and now the pandemic, how can international solidarity and excellence be maintained in the support of scholars in exile? How can we, as host institutions, create supportive and inspiring conditions for exiled scholars despite the current circumstances? The discussion in English will take place online on 20 January 2021 from 12:30 – 13:30 CET. Please register for the event by 18 January 2021.
