Booking train travel abroad

LU purchasing is currently searching for a different provider for booking train travel abroad. In the meantime, please book through the current provider, BCD travel or book yourself and claim the money back by submitting a travel expense report in Primula. Please note that this only applies to train travel abroad, other travel must always be booked through BCD travel. Expense claims for travel or purchases must always be accompanied by written approval from the line manager before submitting the claim in Primula. If you are booking train travel abroad this spring, sign up to trial a new travel agent as part of the change of provider. Contact Jenny Hansson jenny.hansson@cec.lu.se for how to participate.

Fieldwork this spring or summer?
Will you do any fieldwork this spring or summer? Fieldwork is a great way to get the media interested in our research, so we like to tell regional newspapers, the radio and television stations about it. Please send a brief email to Anna Maria anna_maria.erling@cec.lu.se with information about:
  • When are you doing it? (Approximately)
  • Where is it taking place?
  • What are you going to investigate/which research project is your fieldwork related to?
Thank you in advance!
What's up?

Climate, biodiversity and Lund University in the media in the second half of 2022 - the new survey from Kantar-Sifo has arrived.

Summary:
- Record impact for LU in the second half of 2022: a significant increase.
- Climate policy, climate change and COP15 are among the major issues where LU is visible. Climate and environmental reporting accounts for about 20 per cent of LU's impact - as big as the Ukraine war. Lund has the clearest national position among universities when it comes to climate-related news. SU is also visible but not with the same breadth. “LU is the leader in issues related to climate and sustainability”.
- Individual researchers rather than universities/institutions are in focus.
- Climate and sustainability is a common LU thread - communicated by all faculties
- The Faculty of Science is increasing its editorial impact.

LU impact COP15:
The biodiversity conference was one of the ten biggest news items for all of LU, mentioned 18 times in national media in the last six months. That is more than the climate change conference (COP27) and Lund University has, through these articles and features, been able to reach a media audience of ten million.

Faculties:
- Faculty of Science: climate and environmental issues are important (much of the faculty's press) and the faculty's researchers are frequently heard in connection with the UN conferences on climate and biodiversity. A large proportion of expert commentary accounts for the total impact in the first six months of 2023.
