Congratulations to ICOS Sweden for receiving one of the VR Grants for research infrastructures of national interest! The competition was very hard, but ICOS came out in the evaluation as one of four top-ranked infrastructures. This is very good news, meaning that the activities at the field stations can continue and develop. CEC has during the last few months welcomed many new colleagues! Since it may take some time to get acquainted with a new environment, please help to keep our friendly and inclusive work environment alive.
We are happy to welcome the following people to CEC:
Avril Weinbach just arrived at CEC to do a BECC-postdoc project on “Can functional traits improve forecasting of environmental stressors on biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and ecosystem services in Sweden’s forests under climate change?” Her PI is Richard Walters and co-PI is Henrik Smith (and Lars Gamfeldt at the University of Gothenburg). Arrian Karbassioon will arrive at CEC next week to do a BECC-postdoc project on “Can functional traits improve forecasting of environmental stressors on biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and ecosystem services in Sweden’s forests under climate change?” His PI is Björn Klatt at the Department of Biology and co-PI is William Sidemo-Holm (and Heather Reese at the University of Gothenburg)
