A word from the steering committee

Dear colleagues,

The members of the IILME steering group are pleased to launch the IILME newsletter. The first issue is full of news due to the upcoming IMISCOE conference in Warsaw and the reporting of ongoing projects. We hope you will also enjoy the blog written by our new member, Magdalena Ulceluse, and help us spread a call to recruit a new PhD candidate to join the steering committee. We would like to thank all our contributors and we hope more will join for the Fall issue.

We wish you an inspiring conference and a relaxing summer!

Anders, Katarina, Kornélia, Lisa, Nahikari, Rinus and Stefania.
Hot off the press!

In the Spring of 2023, a special issue entitled “State policies and regulation related to migrant work during and beyond COVID-19” and edited by IILME steering committee members Stefania Marino and Lisa Berntsen, was published in the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy. The special issue grew out of an IILME call for papers at the 2021 IMISCOE conference. The issue contains six papers that explore policies and regulations  regarding different types of migrant work during and beyond the pandemic in Japan, Finland, Austria, Italy, The Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
